RDA has received a large number of complaints regarding Deffenbaugh trash and recycling services.

What's happening:

The company that contracts with the city to pick up our trash and recyclables, Deffenbaugh, has been recently sold to DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, a private equity investment affiliate of Credit Suisse. There has been some restructuring in the pick up process and it is causing widespread problems and delays in what had been a fairly reliable service.

Also, the Unified Government has just launched the new curb-side recycling program that demands additional weekly services from Defenbaugh at a time of company upheaval.

What to do:

If you are experiencing any issues we suggest calling 3-1-1 from your home phone. This is the city information line which will connect you to a city operator. Please give them detailed information regarding your situation and they will get it to the proper authority.
